Somatic Therapy
With Judilin Bosita, PsyD, LMFT
If you’ve talked about your pain, but still feel stuck, it might be because your body hasn’t caught up. When your body is calm, your mind can finally rest.
I’m a therapist who’s used somatic therapy in my own personal therapy and with patients.
Somatic therapy grounds my patients in their bodies, improves emotion regulation, and increases their sense of safety.
Do you feel anxious or restless, even when life seems fine?
Are you constantly in overdrive, burnt out, or numb?
Have you done talk therapy, but something still feels unfinished?
Clients Come to Me When They’re…
Anxious + overwhelmed
Disconnected + numb
Stuck + hopeless
Irritable, unable to focus
Having racing thoughts
People pleasing
Operating in overdrive
Experiencing PTSD Symptoms
If your body feels like it’s always bracing for impact, somatic therapy helps you find calm from the inside out.
When your body calms, your world expands. You’ll start responding to life with steadiness instead of fear.
What Somatic Therapy With Me Looks Like
Together, we’ll map the patterns affecting your mind and nervous system and build tools to help your body release what’s been holding you back.
You don’t have to relive traumatic memories. We’ll focus on what’s happening now: the sensations, impulses, and emotions your body carries. This awareness lets blocked energy discharge and restores you to a baseline of rest, alertness, and natural motivation.
Modalities I Use
-
Helps your body finish protective action that couldn’t be completed at the time of the trauma; builds a new sense of safety and control.
-
Guides the nervous system through the cycle of activation and recovery; strengthens your ability to stay regulated under stress.
-
Teaches you to recognize your body’s cues of safety or threat; helps you shift from survival mode to connection.
-
Explores how early relationships shaped your sense of safety and belonging; supports emotional connection and trust.
Somatic therapy isn’t “just for your head”
In sessions, we’ll use gentle movement, breath, sound, and awareness to help your body process what your mind has been carrying.
After Therapy, My Patients Report
Feeling safer + less triggered
Having tools that work in the moment
Relaxation + presence
Better relationships + communication
Healthy boundaries
Trust in their own judgment
Courage to leave unhealthy situations
Feeling like themselves again
Emotional clarity about their past
